Can I fly someplace for the weekend?
Yes, we hope you fly a lot! There are no minimums or extra costs. We don’t have specific rules about weekends. Just don’t be the guy who hogs a plane every weekend and forces us to come up with rules no one likes to enforce!
How do I keep up with what is going on with the club?
There are regularly scheduled meetings which are usually held on the second Monday of each month. They will usually include a social time along with important club business and a safety topic. We also utilize WhatsApp for group chats between meetings.
What is covered by the monthly dues?
Club members are assessed $200 monthly dues to cover fixed cost of running the club and maintaining the fleet. They cover insurance, hanger rental, tie down, and reservations service.
How is billing Tach time verses Hobbs time better for me?
DFC bills on Tach time versus Hobbs time. Tach time varies anywhere from 0.9 of Hobbs-time on a cross-country flight to as much as 0.7 on a training flight. When you compare DFC’s rates to an FBO that bills on Hobbs-time, multiply our rates by an average of 0.8, or divide the FBO rate by 0.8.
Can you give me an example of how do DFC’s rates compare to renting from an FBO?
Be sure and check out the Club or FBO Page for a full comparison.
How will I be billed for the use of the aircraft?
Billing is initiated by the Treasurer on the first of the month. Each member receives a monthly statement via e-mail for the fixed dues and flight time charges accrued during the month. Members are expected to pay via Venmo promptly.
